Marriage/Family Retreat
(self directed)
We believe that every family benefits from time away from the normal routines of life. When you take some time to step back from the norm, it allows you more opportunity to hear each other’s heart. With hearing comes understanding, and with understanding comes affirmation. Take some time to strengthen your marriage, your family.
Come . . . ‘Inthestillness’.
Marriage Retreat
Someone has said that the best thing we can do for our family is to stay deeply in love with our spouse. That is also one of the best things we can do for ourselves. Take some time away, just the two of you, to keep the flames of affection glowing warm and bright.
In this busy society in which we live, it is very easy to drift apart. We can each get caught up in our own worlds and forget to be attentive to each other. Don’t let that happen to you. Give each other the time and attention needed. In the midst of the beauty of God’s creation, this is certainly a place for romance.
Enjoy the crackle of the fire in the wood stove, as you watch the tides rise and fall. Dream.
Sit side by side on the deck and listen to the waves. Breathe.
Take a long slow walk: along the ridge, on the woodland trails or on the beach. Listen.
Find your own secret spot with your own priceless view. Talk.
Luxuriate in the double soaker tub. Refresh.
Climb into your cozy bed. Connect.
Family Retreat:
This is a wonderful place to bring your family. Strengthen your bonds of togetherness. Our society has a tendency to segregate different age groups each to them selves, but we believe that we all need each other, and as we come together, we begin to see the strengths in each other, and to benefit from knowing each others heart. Our desire is that you would find that to be true in your family.
Whether you have a traditional two parent home or you are a single parent with children, we invite you to bring your family to this place of retreat. Learn to experience God together in the midst of His beautiful creation.
There are many activities that can be tailored to the ages of your children. You’ll find a playground for small children, a hammock, a campfire pit, many hiking trails to explore in summer, snowshoe or cross country ski in winter, and of course the beaches offer hours of enjoyment, both summer and winter. The Bay does not freeze in winter and the tides rise and fall every 6 ½ hours, which keep the beaches free of snow. Beachcombing is always a wonderful activity.
